I’ve suffered from depression for as long as I can remember. I have tried everything from herbs, acupuncture, exercise, vitamins (which doesn’t work by the way!). Tried and failed numerous medications, such as Paxil, Abilify, Geodon, Lamictal, just to name a few. I experienced side effects such as trembling, weight gain, nightmares, twitching, non-stop restlessness, anxiety, and a rash which itself can be life-threatening.

Not being able to find a solution with medications and unwilling to do ECT, TMS seemed like the best choice because it is less invasive and has minimal side effects. I made the decision to start TMS and Heather (Dr. D’s Nurse) helped me with the insurance, so the cost of my treatments was covered with the exception of the co-pay. Without Heather’s help and support, I wouldn’t have been able to get this treatment and afford it.

Around the second week I started noticing a difference in my depression and mood. I felt like my depression had seemed to lift and my mood seemed better. Heather and I passed the time during the treatments watching movies, and talking which was always fun.

Dr. Deirmenjian was nice and easy to talk to as well. Overall, it was a good experience, and going everyday wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.
