I feel sad that there are no posts in what I think is the most important forum. I recently started TMS and was hoping for some encouragement. I have made the commitment to complete the series. It’s difficult because I still find the “tapping” painful. They tell me that the area of my head will become desensitized. I can only hope. I want to feel better and hopefully reduce the medications I take (they have really sucky side effects). The encouragement I can give to others is: Stick it out for the long haul, you won’t know if it works if you don’t finish treatment. Keep in close contact with the doctor, if at all possible, make sure you have a friend, family, spouse or whoever that is involved and supportive and helps keep you on track. I could not do this without my husband’s gentle prodding and support.
Starting week 3. I am happy to say that I have ad some desensitization of the area being tapped. I have found that focusing on something else really helps. My treatment office has Netflix on and I read the captions and it has made a difference for me. My spouse said he has seen some change in me and that is a very good thing.
Congratulations fightingforme!
Fightingforme, thank you for the inspirational words!
Congratulations fightingforme! I’m glad you’re hanging in there. Let us know how you’re doing now please.
This is my first post after finding this forum tonight. I started TMS therapy on 11/16/15 and nothing I read said it would hurt while receiving the therapy. It hurt and I went looking for answers to see if it was just me.
The technician overseeing the treatment after the doctor starts it, said she tried it to see what it felt like and only lasted 10 minutes. That made me feel like I wasn’t just being a big wimp.
Has anyone tried taking OCT pain meds before treatment? Does it help? I’ve made the commitment that I will finish the treatment and my husband of 35 years is completely behind me. Now I’m just looking for anything that may have helped others.
