I had my first session of TMS on Monday and shortly after I felt dizzy and very fatigued and very very anxious. I had to go home and crawl under my anxiety blanket and had to call into work the next day. I’m regretting it now because when I was filling out the questionnaire, I am experiencing zero depression and very minimal anxiety. My meds are working good except for a couple of annoying side effects. I feel like I shouldn’t have even started it being in such a good place. Needless to say I quit my treatment after day 1😟
Does anyone know how long till this anxiety subsides?

    To TSE:

Energy healers are out there – they help with chakras, energy meridians, etc. There are reiki healers available. If your town has an Aikido Center, they may offer Elan – form of energy healing. Accupuncture is very helpful, and so is massage. TMS is complete B.S. and these psychiatrists that work for these TMS corporations know it. Good luck – sorry you are going through this. Many times information about energy healers can be found at your local metaphysical bookstores as well….

I’m here to help you all. I have something very rare that people think is a blessing but to me has been a curse. I have a rare memory recall that less than 1.5% people in the entire U.S. (at least ) has. I remember things people tell me they wish they could. I do this well. That helps on many levels as you can imagine. Unfortunately, there is the negative side to this. Since I’m here to educate, somewhat, you can figure out the grim part as a brain exercise for yourselves. (example: unable to forget negative experiences)
The brain is “electric or an electric operating machine” if you will. When it’s said the brain is a muscle this is very much true (without the same effects a person would have of course building up say your biceps muscles, for example) Far different, otherwise we would be walking around comparing each others big heads!
Quickly, and so I don’t lose some of the people I wanted to reach. If you are experiencing ANXIETY two things: Request your TMS doctor tell you how many amps he or she is using per treatment could they lower the amps possibly and if needed spread treatments further apart? Also, get you on a low dose (starting at least) of Wellbutrin or even “K” which I personally would not recommend unless you want to disconnect yourself completely from reality. No, a disconnect so far from reality is more difficult to recover from. Common sense and logic tells you this. Wellbutrin, will alleviate your immediate anxiety issues. As well would, Clonazepam at about .5 mg couple times a day for a consistent experience. As TMS takes effect you can always taper right off it.
I can’t stand unnecessary suffering nor the incompetence of many doctors on this. So there. 😉 Doctors are not god and any doctor worth his salt if asked would tell you they study a widespread matter of illnesses and treatments but YOU ultimately are your own best judge. Then they can be the experts they are by agreeing with you and administering said treatment (s). If you wonder why Wellbutrin works or is used for anxiety,…you could always ask a cocaine addict why they feel good afterwards. IT’S THE SAME. Funny, I recall the eccentric physician in Santa Monica years ago who told me this. I’m thankful he did, it was part of what started my “wake up”.
While I’ve got you I’d like to address TMS, briefly, and how it works in the brain. Yes, as you can imagine much safer then putting chemicals we are still experimenting with in your brain. Do your OWN research. They affect way more parts of your body then the essential neurons they are intended to affect. They do, if they work, a half ass job at that. (my opinion, no, …DO YOUR RESEARCH! ;-)) Unlike TMS which targets only those specific neurons its aimed at. Certain people at your local FDA know this. The science has been here for years. They also know what many cant seem to grasp. That it is much more lucrative making “TRILLIONS’ of dollars (no exaggeration) off almost half the country EVERYDAY, EVERYWEEK, EVERY MONTH TO EVERY YEAR off ignorance while suppressing viable, safer and non invasive methods (want proof? look up John Kanzius) If your smart you wont feel depressed right now but angry, quite pissed and hopefully motivated.
Your wonderful FDA at its finest. Really? (still taking your yearly rat vaccines?) ie “2009” Keeping this short as possible remember two things in the medical world we currently live in YOU are your own BEST physician first. (yes still see a doc)
I’m sorry but that’s the truth. Nobody has more invested or will invest in you but YOU. Before my mother passed recently I found 3 out of her 4 doctors were wrong about their diagnosis on a few occasions and were quick to change their findings when I mentioned a few things like how some medications they had prescribed were dangerous taken together. I learned this was the very reason why she had all these unanswered symptoms which went away when corrected. She passed of natural causes in the end….
Last, follow the money people. The REAL truth in the medical world is not so different than the sports world where money prevails over all. If you think for even a moment the “FDA” has your best interests check your facts and it’s not so distant history. The corruption that has come from there if added up would parallel or be greater then all the crime families corruption COMBINED, and then some..! (conspiracy enter your head?, good. Because when leaders of those same companies like the FDA are caught holding back progress for immediate profit it’s no longer a “theory”.) I didn’t sit on my ass as most. I actually care about my family and got mad at the FACT her life (not could) should have been extended. Since the media does so well and since learning journalist do not need a license what do you think I’ve been doing? The most effective thing I can think of getting my camera right up the nose of those responsible. Done with tact, is amazingly quite effective. (oh, example! Michael Moore)
Want quick change…you tell me a better way. Ill listen.
    Always, follow the money….
I’ll check back,…If this site displays my email your welcome to write asking me anything. I’d love to help in however large or small capacity as I can.

    I go by:

TMS spun my anxiety up Bg Time as well. I am on a campaign to warn anxiety sufferers from doing this. Read the forum. It is covered with similar testimony. It may work, but not worth 6 weeks of chronic anxiety and insomnia. .I have nothing vested here other than to be a friend to you. Just be cautious. This isnt the anxiety talking it is experience.

    Hello,
I had a very similar experience. My regular psychiatrist (not my TMS doctor) told me anxiety halfway through treatment may, paradoxically, be a good sign the treatment is working. It has been activating to me for sure, but she said it is a good sign, providing I can ride it out (reduce caffeine, exercise blah blah). Also I need to start treatment bilaterally. Right now apparently TMS is only FDA approved for major depression and not anxiety….which is very short sighted in my option since you rarely get one without the other.

TMS can cause activation/anxiety and hypomania, even in patients without a history of it. Ask your doctor to switch protocols to HIGH FREQUENCY RIGHT side TMS.

TMS ended up not working. Within months I’m back to where I was but worse. This was my last hope. So devastated
