Hi, new here.
Had my first dTMS today, and they had to turn it down from the initial charge. My teeth chattered and clenched and I cried. I don’t know how I’m going to get through this. How many sessions should I give it until I make the decision to continue or stop? I’m terribly anxious and depressed. My doc switched klonopin to buspar after I overdosed 3 weeks ago on klonopins… but it’s not working yet and I am terribly scared to go through this again, let alone every day for the forseeable future.
I feel you! I’m 3 sessions in and scared everyday. I cried through the entire session yesterday and terrified today already. I don’t know if I can do 30 more but I’m going to keep fighting IF it helps it’ll be worth it.
My fear is going through all this for no results.
I’m doing Neurostar but from what I’ve heard they are the same except for the helmet lol.
Wish I could offer more, everyone says you get used to it… I can’t imagine! The tech kept saying “it’s NOT painful “. I wanted to choke her. It hurts like hell.
Just wanted you to know your not alone. I’d love to hear about your progress.
During my initial charge as you refer I also had the teeth clenching and awful eye twitching wield feeling like my eye was going to pop out or something. The tech eventually had it adjusted to where the eye thing was to a bear minimum and didn’t notice the jaw/teeth clenching afterwards. Hope to hear your progress and you stick with it as I just had my first session as well.
It was very strange. I started having weird dreams and very emotional. Placebo effect maybe???
Definitely had an emotional reaction!! I have 3 under my belt and I guess I tolerate it better with time. Will never be used to it. Really helps (me) to wear a mouthguard and play music and scroll through twitter to pass my time.
