TMS and subsequent tapering of AD meds

I completed TMS about a month ago and it was a great success; I have no symptoms of depression and I feel generally well again for the first time in many years. I am still taking fairly large doses of 3 (expensive) anti-depressant meds and I’m still experiencing HORRIBLE side effects (dry mouth, really bad night sweats and ED to name but a few). I discussed tapering these meds with my doctor yesterday and he told me that I need to wait at least a year to begin withdrawing thee meds. I was very disappointed to say the least!

What is the medical guidance regarding withdrawing meds after successful TMS, will I really need to wait another year?
