Help !!! The Dr. I was going to go to in Al. didn’t bother to tell me the TMS machine is broken and was broken when I went for my consultation,so wasted time and wasted trip. Next I went to a TMS Dr. in Tn. and they didn’t bother to tell me they are booked up for 6 weeks, did the consultant, did not mention been booked up ,no room for me anytime soon,so no TMS for 6 weeks and I NEED IT NOW. I am so depressed, crying, etc. Does this happen to everyone ??. Your thoughts please Thanks Martha

SvenS, I was glad to hear from you,I hope and pray for your depression to get better. So happy that the anxiety has improved. I was hoping for more interaction from others on this blog too. Are you self pay or did your insurance pay for all or most ? My insurance is taking forever to approve me,so frustrating and making me more depressed. My insurance is Blue Cross Blue Shield of Ok. Please let me hear from you again ,Martha. God bless you.

Jenna ,I am so sorry you are not doing any better. Is it against the rules to ask where people are getting treatment? If they receive talk therapy along with TMS ? If the people at the clinic are nice to you,a warm greeting, nice chats while the TMS is tapping on you head and reworking your brain? If you are told not to watch or listen to anything negative, bad, terrifying while your brain needs happy and positive reinforcements at TMS ,home and work.? If your placement of the coil on your head is in the correct spot ( did your thumb move involuntary and they moved the coil back 5 cm) ? If you were told not to change any medicines for 2-3 weeks before TMS and during the treatment (aspirin,Tylenol is fine for the headache the Wood Pecker may make)? If you have anxiety and are still depressed after about 15 treatments or so the coil has an extra 2000 taps it can do on the left or right side of your head for another 15-18 minutes (the2000 extra taps are thrown away at the end of your session) so if your still” IN TH BLACK HOLE “they can give it a try, it may work and you will be smiling and have pep in your step, did you know there were built in extras that you may need just 10 minutes more and it may just do the trick? I was one of those patients that needed the little extra taps when my father in law had a bad stroke and the next week my dog Little Bit of 15 years died. Did you know that when the FDA tested TMS for approval the Drs and staff were told to be indifferent, and not to talk to the patient, their influence may change the outcome of the test. I did a little experiment today. I called 4 TMS clinics ( in the north, south, east and west USA) 2 passed in my opinion and the other 2 flunked big time( don’t think they would help anyone overcome depression, probably add more trauma and who needs that). Well that my 2 cents on TMS,different clinics styles( good and bad ) and the little and big things that affect our brain. God Bless All Of Us,! Martha

Hi,how are you doing now? I did TMS 3 years ago and I’m going to go and get what I call a tune up. I haven’t gone yet,but I saw this site and read some of the post. Do most TMS Drs counsel you with talk therapy like mine? In my case this helps a lot. I am hoping my tune up will be successful,I too had a traumatic event that set me back also like Martha Rhodes. Does anyone else have an opinion of talk therapy at the same time as TMS? I live in North Mississippi and have suffered with depression since childhood,I am 61 now. Thanks for any input.

It helps if you visit with staff, have pleasant uplifting conversations while you have the TMS, listen to something funny,I like ” Larry The Cable Guy “. Or ” I Love Lucy ” Don’t watch the news or anything sad or depressing the whole time ( weeks) you have the TMS treatment. Helps also to see a therapist 1-2 times a week to also help reset and re wire your brain . Let me know if this helps and you improve. Best of luck, happy tapping…. WOODPECKER
